Budget and business development model
Background - Construction subcontractor internally financing growth had limited tools to measure, test and manage operations and the operating, cash flow and return on investment affect of growth.
Solutions - Developed a model to budget and forecast operations, capital investment and cash flow over a multiple year period and prepare management reports for decision making, and recommended processes to prepare and use the model as a strategic management tool. The model infrastructure was divided into budget and forecast modules. The budget module included input capabilities for multiple measurement units, level of operations, growth, short and long term debt, labor and other operating variables. The forecast module enabled sensitivity analyses of the budget module inputs. The model prepared management reports, including company wide draft balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, cash flow graphs, and other management indices for both the budget and forecast modules. Measurement unit management reports included yearly and monthly income statements, cash flow graphs and other management indices.
